The name Poek—from Po (Power), E (Electronics), and K (Kontrol)—reflects our mission to advance power electronics control through innovation, precision, and education.
As a center of knowledge and development, we integrate research, training, and engineering to connect theory with real-world application.
Through our educational programs and personalized training, we help students, researchers, and professionals strengthen their understanding of digital control and embedded systems.
Poek Labs also provides specialized consulting services in digital control and power conversion, supporting companies and institutions in the design, modeling, and optimization of converters, inverters, and advanced energy systems.
In addition, our high-end prototyping hardware and modular laboratory platforms bring control theory to life, enabling experimentation, visualization, and rapid prototyping in safe, scalable environments.

MEET THE MIND BEHIND
Dr. Alberto Berzoy has built a long journey in power electronics control, gaining experience across both industry and academia as engineer, leader, student, and professor. This path has allowed him to develop a clear vision of how control in power electronics should be learned, designed, and applied.
He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electronics Engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar, Caracas, Venezuela, in 2003 and 2008, respectively. He later obtained his Ph.D. from Florida International University (FIU), Miami, USA, in 2018.
His professional career began as a Power Electronics and Control Engineer in the R&D department at sonnen GmbH, where he contributed to the development of next-generation inverters for residential energy storage systems. He later joined Span.IO in a similar role, leading the control team. Today, he is the founder of Poek Labs, where he pursues his passion for research, development, and teaching.

Some of his future goals at Poek include developing practical solutions such as a backpack portable inverter and the electrification of cart wheels for sand to facilitate the transportation of goods on the beach in an affordable way.
